for the Service of Remembrance in the Sanctuary.
Contrary to what Hallmark would have people believe, the holidays are not necessarily happy for everyone. For many people, the upcoming season will be challenging as they deal with some sort of loss in their lives. On Sunday, November 21st, at 3:00 PM, the Congregational Care Commission will have a Service of Remembrance in the sanctuary for people who are experiencing difficulty getting into the “spirit” of the holidays because they are mourning the loss of someone or something important to them. The service will include prayer, meaningful readings, quiet music, and the opportunity to acknowledge each person’s loss in a tangible way. Come and experience the holiday season in a different way, one that we hope will magnify the loving presence of God and this care of this faith community for those struggling with the merriment of the season who might need additional care and support. If you think you, or someone you know, might benefit from this experience, we hope you will join us. A reception will follow immediately after the service.
